The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the FASTag Annual Pass fee for the financial year 2026–27. The price of the pass will increase from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075, and the revised rate will come into effect from April 1, 2026.

The update was confirmed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, which stated that the revision has been implemented according to the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

FASTag Annual Pass Fee Revised for 2026–27

Under the revised structure, the FASTag Annual Pass will cost Rs 3,075 starting April 1, 2026. The pass was originally introduced at Rs 3,000 when it was launched in 2025.

According to NHAI, the fee revision follows the regulatory framework governing toll charges on national highways.

The annual pass allows users to pay a one-time fee and avoid repeated toll payments during highway travel.

FASTag Annual Pass Designed for Private Vehicles

The FASTag Annual Pass is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles, including cars, jeeps and vans.

The scheme was first announced in June 2025 and officially rolled out on August 15, 2025. Since its launch, it has seen increasing adoption among highway users.

Currently, more than 56 lakh vehicle owners are using the FASTag Annual Pass facility, according to NHAI.

FASTag Annual Pass Valid for 200 Toll Crossings or One Year

The FASTag Annual Pass remains valid for up to 200 toll plaza crossings or one year, whichever comes first.

It can be used at around 1,150 toll plazas located across national highways and expressways in India.

The initiative aims to make highway travel more convenient and cost-effective for frequent commuters, especially those who regularly travel between cities.

FASTag Annual Pass Activation Process

Once a user purchases the FASTag Annual Pass, the facility is activated on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle.

According to NHAI, the activation generally takes place within two hours after the payment is completed.

Users receive a confirmation message once the annual pass becomes active.

FASTag Annual Pass: How to Buy Online

Vehicle owners can purchase or renew the FASTag Annual Pass through digital platforms. The steps include:
  • Visit the Rajmarg Yatra App or the official website of the National Highways Authority of India.
  • Log in using your vehicle number and FASTag ID.
  • Ensure the FASTag is active, properly installed and linked to the vehicle.
  • Pay the fee online using UPI, debit card, credit card or net banking.
  • The FASTag Annual Pass will be linked to the existing FASTag after payment.
  • The one-time payment remains valid for the entire year or until the 200 toll crossings limit is reached.

FASTag Annual Pass Adoption Growing Among Highway Users

Officials said the increasing number of users reflects the growing popularity of the FASTag Annual Pass among regular highway commuters.

With millions of private vehicle owners already enrolled, NHAI expects the scheme to continue gaining traction as it simplifies toll payments and reduces the need for repeated recharges.

The authority added that the revised FASTag Annual Pass fee of Rs 3,075 will apply to all eligible vehicles from April 1, 2026 onwards.
