Family dismisses death rumors of Vikram Gokhale; daughter says ‘pray for him’

On Wednesday night, reports came out of the death of Vikram Gokhale. However, the family of the Bollywood and TV actor confirmed on Thursday that the actor has not died and that he is in critical condition. The news of Vikram Gokhale being critically ill and on life support was further confirmed by the actor’s daughter to the news agency ANI.

When the rumours of his death spread on the Internet, several Bollywood stars shared condolence messages for him. Several media houses also reported the news of the actor’s death. However, all the death rumours have been dismissed by the actor's family.

As quoted by ANI, his daughter said that Vikram Gokhale hasn’t "passed away yet" and that he’s "on life support" and asked his fans and well-wishers to "keep praying" for the actor.


The 82-year-old actor is admitted to a hospital in Pune named Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and has been undergoing treatment there for the past few days. To The actor was shifted to the ICU on Wednesday after his health deteriorated. However, no details could be obtained concerning Vikram Gokhale’s illness, as neither the hospitals nor his family have released any official statements yet about his health condition.

Among the several Bollywood actors who expressed condolences after rumours of Vikram Gokhale’s death surfaced on social media were Jaaved Jaafery, Riteish Deshmukh, Ajay Devgan, and Aly Goni, among others.

With Amitabh Bachchan starrer Parwana, the veteran actor made his debut in 1971 at the age of 26. Gokhale has appeared in several Bollywood and Marathi movies in a career spanning over 40 years.
