Social media giant Facebook has introduced many new updates to its Groups feature. The updates aim to increase the users' engagement and help group admins effectively and efficiently manage Groups. One of these updates is related to combating fake news. It will enable group admins to examine flagged posts critically. Admins can move posts to pending posts if they are flagged as false or misleading. After reviewing, admins can either allow those posts or delete them.

A noticeable feature update is the addition of Reels to Groups. Members can now share videos on the topic of the Group in order to interact and engage more profoundly. "With Reels now in Groups, community members can share information, tell stories and connect on a deeper level," the company said in a blogpost.

Another added feature to the Groups will let you share a Facebook event for your community on your Instagram story. This will enable you to showcase your community in a broader manner. The social media platform will also allow users to add more information to the profile of their Group to "connect with other members" and "foster community relationships." The "About Me" section lets you underline the information you wish to share with the community.

Facebook also tests the ability of moderators and group admins to create view-only messages to send one-way communications to the members. Besides, new tools to facilitate community engagement have also been introduced. Admins can now highlight the top contributing members who can earn points by fulfilling responsibilities. The platform also began a Community Accelerator Program to equip community leaders with the required skills.

"Building community is core to Facebook's mission in bringing the world closer together, and while the community has made its way into every corner of the app, Groups continue to be the central place where people go to do more together," the company said.

"In fact, most people on Facebook are members of at least 15 active groups, and there are more than 100 million group joins every day," it added.
