Ex-Karnataka DGP murder: Wife threw chilli powder before stabbing, then told friend “I’ve killed the monster”, police reveal details
Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash was murdered by his wife, Pallavi, who is now detained as the primary suspect. Sources indicate Pallavi threw chilli powder in Prakash's face before fatally stabbing him during an argument.

Pallavi has been detained, as she has emerged as the key suspect in the case. Their daughter, Kriti, has also been taken into custody.
Prakash, a 1981 batch IPS officer originally from Bihar, was found dead in a pool of blood on the ground floor of his three-storey house in HSR Layout on Sunday.
"After a heated exchange of words, Pallavi threw chilli powder on Prakash's face," sources told PTI. As the former police chief struggled due to the burning sensation, Pallavi allegedly stabbed him multiple times with a knife, killing him on the spot.
According to sources, she then made a video call to a friend and said, "I have killed the monster."
Police sources said that the couple had frequent arguments, and the murder may have been linked to a property dispute involving land in Dandeli, Karnataka.
A few months ago, Pallavi had reportedly gone to the HSR Layout police station to file a complaint. When the police did not take action, she held a sit-in protest outside the station, according to sources.
It has also been learnt that Pallavi was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was under medication.
Om Prakash, aged 68, was a native of Champaran, Bihar. He held a Master’s degree in Geology and was appointed Karnataka's Director General of Police on 1 March 2015.
