Ex-Army Chief General MM Naravane, who led during Galwan clash, unveils his military murder novel, The Cantonment Conspiracy

Former Army Chief General MM Naravane (retired) introduced his book, The Cantonment Conspiracy, through an unboxing video. In the video, he sat alongside his wife, Veena Naravane, and presented her with the first copy. The video was shared on his handle on X.

"Hello and welcome to our home, it is a very important day as I have just received author copies of my book, The Cantonment Conspiracy published by Penguin Randomhouse," he said. Holding the book up, he added, "Here it is, The Cantonment Conspiracy. Finally, I am a published author." His wife congratulated him with a clap, and he gifted her the first copy, to which she responded, "Thank you."

A Military Thriller

The book, a military thriller, follows two officers from the National Defence Academy as they investigate an assault and murder in a garrison. General Naravane (retired) stated that the book is available on Amazon. "I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it," he said.

Led the Army During the Galwan Clash

General Naravane (retired) served as Chief of Army Staff from December 31, 2019, to April 30, 2022. He was the Army Chief during the Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops in June 2020, one of the most significant military confrontations in recent years.

General Naravane's Books

His first book, a memoir titled Four Stars of Destiny, was initially set for release last year. However, its publication has been delayed due to a review by the Defence Ministry, a standard procedure for books authored by former high-ranking military officials.
