Elon Musk has revealed that Tesla and xAI are seeking to hire network engineers and technicians. The announcement was made through a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Both @Tesla and @xAI are looking to hire networking engineers & technicians," Musk wrote.

Musk Announces Hiring

Although these are technical roles, Musk has previously expressed skepticism about hiring MBAs, believing they can become overly focused on metrics and spreadsheets, losing sight of their primary objectives.

Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest individual with a net worth of $252 billion, is the CEO of Tesla, one of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers, headquartered in Austin, Texas. He also founded and serves as CEO of xAI, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup. Additionally, Musk owns X, which he acquired for $44 billion in October 2022 when it was still known as Twitter. The platform was rebranded to X in 2023.

What is xAI?

xAI, an artificial intelligence startup founded by Musk, aims to "understand the true nature of the universe" and develop AI with advanced mathematical reasoning capabilities, a feature lacking in current AI models. In May, xAI secured $6 billion in Series B funding from investors including Valor Equity Partners, Vy Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal's Kingdom Holding.

xAI introduced Grok, a generative AI chatbot designed to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT. Musk co-founded OpenAI but left in 2018, citing potential conflicts of interest as Tesla also develops AI for self-driving cars. However, Sam Altman, OpenAI's current CEO, claimed Musk's departure was due to a failed attempt to take over OpenAI completely.
