In his statement, Zuckerberg advised online users to take his opponent's words with a grain of salt.
"I'm enthusiastic about the idea of this match and have been prepared to participate since Elon first issued the challenge. When a concrete date is established, I will personally share the information. Until that moment arrives, please understand that nothing he claims has been formally arranged," Zuckerberg communicated.
Zuckerberg also shared his thoughts that he wasn't expecting immediate action from Musk and pledged to reveal fight particulars in due course.
"While I'm not holding my breath for Elon's response, I'll unveil details about my upcoming match when I'm set. If I do engage in competition, I intend to use the opportunity to highlight the exceptional athletes who dominate the field. Achieving this involves collaborating with established organizations such as UFC or ONE to deliver a remarkable event," Zuckerberg commented.
Elon Musk took note of Zuckerberg's message and responded through a series of tweets.
"If Zuck is truly eager to comprehend the significance of weight classes in combat, I could pay him a visit next week and offer an unforgettable lesson... Alternatively, we can wait for the arena in Italy to be prepared and settle it there," Musk's tweets read.
"Alternatively, we might do both and treat next week as a practice run," he appended.
It's important to recall that these technology tycoons initially agreed to a hypothetical "cage match" in late June. The exchange of challenges kicked off when Musk tweeted his openness to a confrontation with Mark Zuckerberg, who has some experience in jiujitsu.
