Elderly woman slaps male flight attendant for denying a glass of champagne

In a bizarre turn of events, an elderly woman slapped a male flight attendant mid-air after she was allegedly denied a glass of champagne. According to the report, the 70-year-old woman passenger allegedly became aggressive after flight attendant rejected her request for alcohol.

The incident happened on budget British airline Jet 2 on a flight from Manchester, UK, to Rhodes, Greece. The woman had repeatedly asked for free champagne and when the steward told her it wasn’t part of the service, she resorted to a gin and tonic. The woman kept asking for gin and tonic, but the flight attendant took away the beverage after the woman allegedly became aggressive.

Due to this disturbing incident the pilot was forced to divert the plane to Munich, Germany. After landing at Munich, the woman was escorted off the plane by nine police.


The video of the incident has gone viral. The footage was first shared on TikTok that has already attracted over 25,000 comments. The video shows the male flight attending trying calm down the woman – but her body language suggests otherwise. He can be seen trying to restrain the elderly woman’s arms which were violently flailing around.


But after struggling to control her, he stands up – and that’s when the raging pensioner in her 70s got up out of her seat and slapped the male employee twice.

Another member of staff is seen helping restrain the woman who falls back into her seat before the clip ends.

Jet2 spokesperson apologised for the inconvenience caused to fellow passengers.

“We can confirm that flight LS819 from Manchester to Rhodes was diverted to Munich Airport yesterday so that a disruptive passenger could be offloaded,” the spokesperson said.

“We would like to apologize to customers for this unforeseen delay and any inconvenience caused.”
