Television executive Ekta Kapoor has added her voice to the chorus of opposition against actor Radhika Madan, whose recent remarks about the television industry were viewed as disrespectful by some who work in the industry. "Sad and shameful actors have no respect for their roots," wrote Kapoor on Instagram.

Radhika recently spoke about the demanding hours and lack of innovation that define the TV industry, where she began her acting career. During an interview, she acknowledged working for 'Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi' for up to 48–50 hours. Madan claimed that there was never a finalised screenplay and that the show's directors frequently changed. She added that the script would be given to the actors on the sets. Every time the 'Pataakha actress' requested a script while filming, she allegedly received the response, "Aap set pe chalo, script garma garam aa rahi hai." She added that any contributions she made would be rejected by the directors.

Sayantani Ghosh replied to Radhika Madan's interview, "Very happy for you and an ardent admirer of you! I recall that you did a great job on your most recent performance. And if I recall correctly, it was a television programme. In fact, a fantastic beginning to a promising career! I'm sorry, but I just found this thought process odd. It is sad to dismiss the TV industry. Every aspect of life functions in a certain way and has its advantages as well as weaknesses.

Other TV actors and actresses like Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, Karanvir Bohra, and Anita Hassanandani Reddy supported Sayantani.

Ekta Kapoor's TV programme 'Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi' in 2014 served as the platform for Radhika‘s introduction to the world. They first met in Delhi, where Madan was performing in a group dance. Kapoor was drawn to Radhika's performance and personality, so she chose to cast her as Ishaani Parekh on her show. Shakti Arora and Radhika Madan's on-screen chemistry won over viewers.
