Eid al-Adha 2022: Wishes, Quotes, Messages, and greetings to share with friends, family

Eid al-Adha, popularly known as Bakra Eid, is one of the most auspicious festival celebrated with fervour by Muslims all around the world. The festival comes a day after pilgrims conducting Haj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, descend from Mount Arafat.

This year, the festival will begin on July 9 evening and end on July 10.

The festival is celebrated worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God. According to the Holy book of Quran, God was then pleased with Ibrahim and his son and replaced the boy with a ram, which was then sacrificed by Prophet Ibrahim .
