The EV will be a three-door hatchback. The four-seater MG Comet EV will be the smallest four-wheeler in India, measuring just 2.9m long. India's smallest car Tata Nano was 3,099mm long.
The Comet EV is based on MG's Wuling Air EV currently offered in the global markets. It is likely to have a similar appearance to the model offered in Indonesia.
The EV is expected to be MG's most affordable car in India, competing against Tata Nexon EV. The price of the car is expected to be around Rs 10 lakh in India.
It is expected to be launched in India on April 19, 2023.
The company said that the Comet EV will be assembled in India and it plans give it over 60 percent localisation to price it as competitively as possible.
