Admissions to DU's undergraduate programmes will be based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores.
The University of Delhi (DU) is expected to begin the undergraduate admission process for the 2026 academic session soon, probably this week, following the announcement of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) results. According to reports, the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal is likely to open on June 27, allowing eligible candidates to register for admission to around 72,000 undergraduate seats across 69 colleges.

Admissions to DU's undergraduate programmes will be based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores. The university has advised students to keep all required documents ready and prepare a list of preferred courses and colleges before the registration process begins.

Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh has urged students not to panic during the admission process and encouraged them to fill in as many course and college preferences as possible on the CSAS portal.

"There is no need to panic. Admissions are based entirely on CUET scores. Students should carefully read the admission guidelines and choose as many preferences as possible. They can always upgrade their seats in later rounds," Singh said.

He also noted that students whose Class 12 marks change after re-evaluation can submit updated documents until September 30, with the possibility of an extension if required.

DU CSAS 2026 Admission Process

The admission process will take place in multiple phases:

To improve seat utilisation, the university is expected to modify select BA combinations before admissions begin.

During the 2025-26 session, DU recorded 72,230 admissions against 71,624 sanctioned seats, while some courses continued to witness vacancies despite overall over-admissions.
