Drugs case: NCB files 200-page chargesheet against comedians Bharti Singh & Haarsh Limbachiyaa

The Mumbai NCB submitted a 200-page charge sheet to the court against comedian Bharti Singh and her husband, Haarsh Limbachiya. They were detained in 2020 as part of a drug investigation; they are currently free on bail.

The couple was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in late 2020 on suspicion of drug consumption and possession of a tiny amount of marijuana, which shocked the entertainment industry.

Details of the Bharti-Haarsh drug case



In November 2020, 86.50 grammes of marijuana, also known as "ganja," were found at Bharti and Haarsh's home and office and they were both taken into custody.

The NCB had cited portions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act that dealt with the consumption and possession of tiny amounts of prohibited substances.

The couple, Bharti-Haarsh, confessed to consuming drugs.

The couple was identified by two arrested drug dealers, which led to their arrests, which shook the entertainment industry. The couple was questioned and detained after they admitted to using drugs following the seizure.

According to reports, Haarsh admitted to the NCB that he used to buy drugs for himself.

Bharti-Haarsh was granted bail


After two days, a magistrate court released Bharti and Haarsh on bail with a Rs 15,000 bond each. They were charged with violating NDPS Act sections 8(c), which deals with drug possession; 20(b)(ii)(A), which deals with the involvement of a small amount of drugs; and 27, which deals with drug consumption.
