The Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (HPSEDC) is set to organise a special recruitment drive for 300 delivery rider positions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first week of next month.

The initiative aims to provide new overseas employment opportunities to the youth of Himachal Pradesh, the state government said on Tuesday.

An official spokesperson stated that candidates interested in the opportunity can apply through a Google Form link shared by HPSEDC.

He added that the recruitment is being carried out by HPSEDC in collaboration with the Department of Labour & Employment, along with a recruitment agency registered with the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

According to the spokesperson, selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of AED 2,500. In addition to this, they will be eligible for commission and tips, taking their approximate monthly earnings to around Rs 70,000 to Rs 1,00,000.

The employment package has been designed to attract eligible youth seeking stable overseas jobs with decent income potential.

He also mentioned that candidates must not have deformities on the face or neck, and colour blindness will not be acceptable for the job role.

A UAE driving licence will be provided to selected candidates after deployment, for which a fee of AED 5,500 has been fixed. However, only applicants with a valid passport will be allowed to participate in the recruitment process.

In addition to the licence fee, selected candidates will also have to pay Rs 35,400 as approved by the MEA, along with a medical fee of Rs 1,500.

“For detailed information regarding the venue and schedule of the recruitment drive, candidates may contact their local Labour & Employment office or visit the HPSEDC website,” the spokesperson added.
