'Dragged out of car, hacked with swords': Former PA of SAD leader Jagdev Singh Talwandi murdered in Ludhiana; Police probe underway

Kuldeep Singh Mundia, former personal assistant (PA) to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and ex-MP Jagdev Singh Talwandi, was brutally killed with swords late Friday night at Missing Link-2 near Dhandra Road in Ludhiana.

According to a TOI report, Kuldeep was driving his car from his farmhouse when another car started following him. The attackers, in a Swift, chased him down, blocked his path, and dragged him out of his vehicle. They then assaulted him with swords on the highway. Despite his cries for help, no one stepped in. However, a passerby recorded the entire attack on video.

Police said Kuldeep died on the spot due to multiple serious injuries. The video has now become a key part of the police investigation.

Police say probe is on

Station House Officer at Sadar Police Station Avneet Kaur confirmed that police have started raids to catch those responsible. “The accused will be arrested soon,” she said. The motive behind the attack is still unclear.

SAD protests over separate arrest of Majithia

Meanwhile, a separate incident has caused unrest in Punjab. SAD workers were detained by the police on Thursday while protesting the arrest of party leader and MLA Bikram Singh Majithia.

Majithia was taken into custody by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, which also carried out searches at his home in Amritsar.

Majithia’s wife speaks out

Majithia’s wife, Ganieve Kaur Majithia, slammed the police action. She claimed that 30 to 35 officials entered their house without showing any documents or a warrant. “They went through our personal belongings and didn’t even talk to us,” she said.

She added, “This case has not even been properly investigated. But we will keep fighting. The people of Majithia are with us.”
