Don't look up unless you know how to safely view a solar eclipse
The last solar eclipse of 2022 will be seen on Tuesday in various Indian cities and other countries. Learn how to watch the solar eclipse correctly.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon blocks the sun either partially or totally, as seen from Earth. As the moon orbits Earth, and Earth orbits the sun, the moon gets caught in the middle and casts a shadow on Earth. People in regions where the shadow falls will be able to see the solar eclipse.
Never look directly at the sun. Solar eclipses can be especially dangerous for direct viewing because the sudden changes in luminosity do not give our eyes a chance to adapt. It is best if you have a pair of special glasses that have solar filters.
People can also observe the eclipse using a pinhole projector. Here are the timings across various Indian cities
- Bhopal: 4.42 pm to 5.47 pm
- Chennai: 5.13 pm to 5.45 pm
- Hyderabad: 4.58 pm to 5.48 pm
- Delhi: 4.51 pm to 5.42 pm
- Mumbai: 4.4 pm to 6.09 pm
- Kolkata: 4.51 pm to 5.04 pm
