'Don't know who Urvashi Rautela is': Watch Naseem Shah's response

He may have created ripples in the social media scene in India after he was featured in an Instagram reel by Bollywood actor Urvashi Rautela, but Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah has made it clear that he does not know her.

"I smile at your question. I don't know who or what Urvashi is. I don't know what type of videos she does. I don't know anything. My focus is only cricket, and I want to play the game," 19-year-old Shah replied earnestly when asked about it in a press conference at the Asia Cup 2022.


In the video posted a few days ago, and subsequently deleted, Rautela, 29, could be seen enjoying the India-Pakistan match on September 4. The video has shots of Naseem Shah, with the song 'Koi Tujhko Na Mujhse Chura Le' as background.

Though it was deleted soon after, trolls went after her for featuring a Pak player in a romantic reel.

After Shah's reaction, Rautela wrote on Instagram: “Couple of days back, my team shared all fan-made cute edits (around 11-12) without any knowledge of other people involved in it.

This controversy involving the actor came just a couple of weeks after she was involved in a slangimg match - without taking each other's names, but giving enough hints - with Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant.

In August, she gave an interview to an entertainment portal, saying a certain "Mr RP" once waited for her for almost 10 hours in a hotel lobby to meet her while she was getting some sleep and that she felt bad for having made him wait for so long.

Fans connected RP to Pant, who was linked with her in media reports in 2018, and Pant wrote in an Insta post: "It's funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them". He added hashtags - 'Mera Picha Chhoro Behen', and 'Jhuth Ki Bhi Limit Hoti Hai' at the end of the note.

He deleted it soon after, but that didn't stop her from responding with a stinker: "Chotu bhaiyaa should play bat ball...main koyi munni nahi hoon badnaam hone with young kiddo darling tere liye #RAKSHABANDHAN mubarak ho." She also added hashtags - "RP CHOTU BHAIYYA, Cougar Hunter, and Don't take advantage of a silent girl".
