When the conversation turns to the fittest stars in the Indian film industry, Akshay Kumar’s name usually lands early. The Bollywood veteran has built a reputation not just through action-packed roles, but through a disciplined lifestyle that seems to run quietly in the background of everything he does. Whether on screen or off it, his consistency tends to stand out more than any dramatic transformation.

In a recent interaction with ANI, the 58-year-old actor shared a fitness principle that sounds almost too simple to be taken seriously at first. No complicated diet charts, no extreme routines. Just one habit: finish dinner early—ideally before 6:30 pm.

“Humesha ek hi baat kehte aaya hun ki shaam ka khana suraj dhalne se phle, 6:30 pm, se pehle khaa lena bas aur kuch nahin...Isse bada mantra zindagi mein koi nahin de sakta...Doctor bhi yahi kahega,” Akshay said, underlining that this one practice, in his view, can make a significant difference. The idea is straightforward—align your eating habits with your body’s natural rhythm rather than stretching meals late into the night.

This isn’t a one-off comment. Akshay has consistently spoken about fitness as a long-term commitment rather than a quick fix. During his appearance on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, he urged people to be cautious about blindly following celebrity physiques. He pointed out that what appears on screen is often enhanced with visual effects, lighting, and editing, which can create unrealistic expectations.

“It is very important that we understand what is good and what is bad for your fitness. Change your lifestyle on the advice of doctors and not by looking at a film star’s body,” he said, nudging people to rely more on professional guidance than visual inspiration.

He also raised concerns about the growing trend of shortcuts, particularly the use of steroids to achieve rapid muscle gain. According to him, such methods may create an illusion of strength while compromising long-term health. He described fitness as something that should be built steadily—through exercise, yoga, balanced nutrition, proper sleep, and even moments of stillness like meditation.

“Remember, a shortcut can cut your life short,” he remarked, adding that fitness shouldn’t be treated like instant coffee or two-minute noodles.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is now preparing for the release of ‘Bhooth Bangla’, directed by Priyadarshan. The film, backed by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, is slated to hit theatres on April 10.
