Just days after defending her controversial remarks on childbirth, Madhuri Jain Grover has once again found herself at the centre of a social media storm—this time over her views on who really runs the country.

Speaking on the podcast Shut Up With Tejasswi, the former Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa contestant argued that wealthy people, not the poor, are the ones driving the country.

"Wealthy people are the ones running the country. Who else is running it? Who is giving jobs to everyone else?" Madhuri said during the conversation.

When host Tejasswi pointed out that poor people also contribute to running the country, Madhuri disagreed.

"It's good if poor people help. But do you really think all poor people are running the country? Do you seriously believe that poor people are the ones running the country? No," she said.

Her latest comments come amid an ongoing backlash over her earlier "gareeb bacche paida" remark, which drew sharp criticism online. Responding to the controversy in an interview with IANS, Madhuri insisted that her comments had been misunderstood.

"I was talking about having more children. That we should have more children. I didn't stop anyone from having children," she said.

She further clarified that her appeal was not aimed at any particular economic group and even suggested that wealthy families should consider having more children.

"We regret that we didn't do that. The rich people should think more about this. If you do more, the economy will be better. The industries will be better. When the poor people give birth, the poor will grow," she said.

Madhuri also stressed that everyone has the right to have children and maintained that her intention was to encourage childbirth, not discourage it.

The wife of entrepreneur Ashneer Grover was recently evicted from Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. Her latest remarks have once again triggered heated debate on social media over wealth, inequality and population growth.
