Diwali 2022: Things to follow on this auspicious day
Diwali is here, and the festivities have started across the country. So, you can start your celebrations, but remember these do's and don'ts while celebrating.

Deepavali, also known as the festival of lights, is celebrated yearly with great joy. The festivities consist of performing puja, observing certain rituals, and decorating homes with diyas, rangoli, and lights. As well as, people gift each other sweets and dry fruits, wear new traditional attires, and light firecrackers.
It is believed that when Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana and spending 14 years in exile, the kingdom of Ayodhya lit up with lights and people celebrated the return by performing various festivities. Thus, people still follow that tradition and pray to the gods for health, wealth, and prosperity.
Here are some Do's and Don'ts to be mindful of during Diwali
Do's:
Clean your houses and decorate using lights, diyas, flowers, and rangolis to bring prosperity.
Clean the Puja room of your house properly, spread a red cloth, and place idols of Gods on that cloth.
Don'ts:
Avoid using idols made of glass to perform puja and use idols made of clay or silver.
Do not leave your footwear at your entrance, as it is a Puja to welcome Goddess Lakshmi into our homes.
The usage of iron utensils should be avoided.
Consumption of alcohol and non-veg food should be avoided.
