Disha Patani’s Bareilly home firing: How police hunted down and killed Goldy Brar-Rohit Godara gang members
Firing occurred outside Disha Patani's Bareilly home. Gangster Goldy Brar's group claimed responsibility. The incident stemmed from Khushboo Patani's criticism of a spiritual leader. UP police pursued the shooters. An encounter in Ghaziabad result...

On the night of 12 September, two men on a motorbike stopped outside Patani’s family home and sprayed bullets, nine rounds in all, at the walls and gate. CCTV footage captured the chilling scene: two figures dismounting, firing, and vanishing into the darkness. Inside, Disha’s father Jagdish Patani, her mother Padma, and siblings Khushboo and Suryansh watched the horror unfold. Disha herself was not at home.
Soon after, an account linked to gangster Goldy Brar’s group claimed responsibility online, citing “insults to revered saints.” The post was deleted within hours, but the damage was done, panic spread, and the Patani family was left shaken.
A Controversy in the Background
At the centre of the storm was Disha’s elder sister Khushboo Patani, a retired Army major turned wellness coach. Weeks earlier, she had criticised Katcha Vachak Aniruddh Acharya for making what she described as “misogynistic remarks.” In an Instagram story, she bluntly said: “If he would have been in front of me, I would have taught him a lesson.”
Her remarks, however, were wrongly attributed to Premanand Ji Maharaj, a spiritual leader followed by many celebrities.
This snowballed into criticism and online outrage. Khushboo later issued a clarification, warning of legal action and stating firmly that her words were never aimed at Premanand Ji.
The Hunt for the Shooters
After the firing, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath ordered swift action. The Noida STF and Delhi Police special cell took charge, piecing together clues from CCTV footage, interstate crime records, and ground-level intelligence. Two names emerged, Ravindra of Rohtak and Arun of Sonipat, both members of the Goldy Brar-Rohit Godara gang. The Final Encounter in Ghaziabad
On Wednesday night, the chase came to an end in Tronica City, Ghaziabad. When confronted, the duo opened fire, triggering a gun battle. By the end of it, both men lay critically injured and were rushed to hospital, where doctors declared them dead.Recovered from the scene: a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and multiple live cartridges.
But the cost wasn’t one-sided. Sub-inspector Rohit of Delhi Police was shot in the hand, while head constable Kailash took a bullet to his bicep. Two STF men, Ankur and Jai, were also injured in the crossfire.
A Gangster With a Notorious Past
As per a TOI report, sources revealed that Ravindra wasn’t just linked to the Patani house firing, he was also wanted in connection with gangster Ravi Jagsi’s dramatic escape from Faridabad police custody. His death, along with Arun’s, is being seen as a significant blow to the Brar-Godara network.A Family Still in Shock
For the Patanis, the trauma lingers. What was once their quiet Bareilly home turned overnight into the target of a gangland warning shot. Even as police call the encounter a “successful operation,” the family, especially Khushboo, whose remarks inadvertently lit the fuse, is left to process the terrifying reminder that crime syndicates don’t just exist in films.
