Diljit Dosanjh becomes first Punjabi singer to perform at Coachella, fans call it ‘historic’

Diljit Dosanjh became the first Punjabi singer to perform at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, this weekend. Several videos of the event have been doing rounds on social media with people grooving to Diljit Dosanjh’s peppy songs.

The Punjabi star took over the Coachella music festival on Saturday as South-Asian people flocked to the concert. American DJ Diplo also shared a clip of himself on Instagram grooving to Diljit's live performance at the Sahara.

For the memorable event, Diljit chose a black Punjabi Kurta and Tamba, which is traditional attire for Punjabi men. He complimented the look with a black turban, black sunglasses, and even a pair of yellow gloves.


The singer performed for a packed audience and made people groove to his songs like
Patiala Peg, Lemonade, Proper Patola, Born to Shine among others.
