Producer Dil Raju has sparked outrage with his latest statement comparing two South industry superstars, Vijay Thalapathy and Ajith Kumar. According to the producer, Thalapathy is a bigger star in Tamil Nadu than Ajith Kumar. The remarks did not go well with the fans of both stars, as evidenced by the social media backlash.

During an interview with the Telugu channel NTV, Dil Raju stated, "Ajith sir's film will be released alongside mine in Tamil Nadu. It is well known that Vijay sir is Tamil Nadu's number one star. As a result, his film (Varisu) deserves to be seen on more screens than Thunivu. The state has 800 screens in total." He further stated "Both films are currently getting an equal number of screens. Because Vijay sir is a bigger star than Ajith, I'm literally begging for at least 50 more screens for my film "

Fans took to the comments section to call out the producer's 'unwanted' remarks. According to one Twitter user, "Someone from another state is instigating a fan feud between Vijay and Ajith," another fan wrote. "Why is he even comparing the stars? If Vijay is the bigger star, shouldn't his film be given more exposure? "and much more.
