Dhurandhar 2 paid preview reactions: ‘Masterpiece’ to ‘exhausting’, what people are saying about Ranveer Singh starrer movie
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has opened its paid previews to a massive response. Early social media reactions are divided, with some praising the film's action and performances. Others criticize its narrative and tone. The film is set for its official ...

Several viewers hailed the sequel as a gripping follow-up. One user wrote that “Dhurandhar 2 delivers a powerful continuation… starts a bit slow but builds into an intense, essential cinematic experience.” Another praised the performances, calling Ranveer Singh’s act “career-best,” while highlighting the ensemble cast featuring R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna. The film’s scale, action, and nationalistic tone drew strong reactions, with some calling it a “goosebumps ride.”
A third user described the film as “more explosive and gripping than the first part,” adding that despite some convenient storytelling, it offers a “never-seen-before roller-coaster ride.” The user even predicted a potential ₹1,000 crore-plus run at the Indian box office.
However, not all reactions were glowing. Some viewers criticised the film’s tone and narrative. One X user said the sequel feels like “a loud propaganda reel” with a weak storyline, forced messaging, and over-the-top dialogues. “No subtlety, no depth — just noise… by the end, it’s exhausting,” the user added.
Earlier, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma had expressed strong optimism about the film’s prospects, stating that Dhurandhar 2 could earn over ₹120 crore in a single day despite its long runtime.
The film is set for its official theatrical release on March 19. In a rare move, theatres in cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad have scheduled post-midnight and early morning shows to meet demand. Reports suggest screenings as early as 2:15 am have been planned in select cinemas.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film stars Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who transforms into covert operative Hamza Ali Mazari operating in Pakistan. The sequel explores his rise in Karachi’s underworld while delving into his backstory.
The film also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, and will release in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
At the box office, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will aim to surpass its predecessor, currently among the highest-grossing Hindi films, competing with titles like Pushpa 2: The Rule, Stree 2, and Chhaava. If it crosses the ₹1,000 crore net mark, it could join the elite league of pan-India blockbusters alongside Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2.
