Ahead of its release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) report, as cited by ETimes, has surfaced online, revealing key details about the film’s certification and edits.



Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been granted an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate, signalling the presence of intense and violent content.

Dhurandhar Runtime Reduced After CBFC Cuts

According to the certification details, the final runtime of Dhurandhar 2 in India stands at 3 hours, 49 minutes and 36 seconds.

The version initially submitted to the CBFC reportedly ran for approximately 3 hours and 51 minutes. Following mandated edits of around 1.3 minutes, the runtime was slightly reduced.

Interestingly, the Indian theatrical version is said to be over 6 minutes shorter than the overseas cut, which reportedly runs close to 3 hours and 55 minutes.

Dhurandhar 2 Scenes Trimmed Due to Graphic Violence

The CBFC reportedly suggested a total of 21 modifications, with at least four major cuts targeting scenes of extreme violence.

According to the report, the trimmed sequences in Dhurandhar: The Revenge included visuals such as:

• Smashing the eye
• Beheading and kicking
• Hitting the head with a cement block
• Hitting the head with a hammer

One particularly graphic moment involving beheading and kicking was reduced by 24 seconds. These edits were made to tone down the intensity while retaining the film’s core narrative.

Dhurandhar Fans React to CBFC Edits

The news of the cuts quickly went viral, prompting mixed reactions from fans on social media.

Some expressed disappointment over the censorship despite the ‘A’ rating, with one user commenting: “CBFC gives A ratings, yet Dhurandhar is censored in India while overseas it’s uncut.”
