Despite the rising tension, Rathee and his immediate family were able to board an early morning flight. He noted that their aircraft took off without issues, but the gravity of the situation only became clear once they were airborne. Upon landing at his destination, Rathee was met with images and videos that showcased the devastation left behind at his point of departure. The footage revealed Dubai International Airport—one of the world's busiest travel hubs—completely engulfed in smoke and being rapidly evacuated. Official reports later confirmed that a concourse at DXB sustained damage and multiple staff members were injured. Rathee described the surreal sight of drones being intercepted near the Burj Khalifa, with falling debris from these interceptions sparking fires on the facade of the Burj Al Arab.Dhruv Rathee Family Stranded in Dubai
The crisis took a deeply personal turn for the YouTuber, as several members of his extended family were not as fortunate in their travel timings. Their flights, scheduled just hours after his own, were canceled as the UAE government suspended all operations. Rathee expressed deep shock and concern for his relatives, who remain stranded at the airport with "no clear information" on when the facility will reopen. This situation mirrors that of approximately 20,000 other travelers currently trapped in Dubai as airlines like Emirates and Etihad ground their fleets indefinitely. The Economic Times Business News App for the Latest News in Business, Sensex, Stock Market Updates & More.
