MS Dhoni trends on social media after video of air hostess offering him chocolates goes viral

Despite retiring from international cricket for two years now, former India skipper MS Dhoni's popularity remains very high. He trended on Twitter today after an user shared a video of Dhoni being offered chocolates and dry fruits by an airhostess abroad an IndiGo flight. Dhoni's wife Sakshi and their daughter were also seen travelling with him.

Dhoni is seen accepting a dates pack while politely refusing the other stuff in the video.



"I see Candy Crush downloads increasing post this," posted an user.

"When I saw that tray I was like no self respecting athlete will eat anything from that tray except maybe the dates and he only took the date," posted another user.

Coincidentally, India today celebrated the 40th anniversary of its World Cup victory under the leadership of legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev.

"25th June, 1983 - 40 years since that landmark day when Kapil Paaji and his boys won India the World Cup and it inspired an entire generation of youth to take up Cricket and was an instrumental moment in making Cricket what it is in India," wrote former India batter and current National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman in a tweet.

Team India won the second World Cup title when MS Dhoni captained the team in 2011 to title triumph.

Despite struggling with a knee problem during this year's IPL season, Dhoni led CSK to their fifth title. After winning the IPL title, Dhoni said that it would have been the best time to announce his retirement from IPL but instead vowed to return for "at least" one more season if his body allowed for his fans. He later underwent a knee surgery to overcome the issue.

Chennai Super Kings' chief executive officer, Kasi Viswanathan, recently revealed that CSK skipper the knee injury was a struggle for the CSK skipper but he never complained about this to anybody. Dhoni didn't miss a single match in CSK's IPL 2023 triumph.

The former Indian skipper went through knee surgery at the beginning of this month to overcome this issue.

"We never asked him things like 'do you want to play or do you want to sit out?' If he can't, he would've told us straightaway," Viswanathan said while speaking to ESPNcricinfo.

"We knew it was a struggle for him to play, but his commitment to the team, his leadership and how the team benefits everyone knows. From that perspective, you have to appreciate him," he said.
