The IMD has issued an orange alert for South, Central and New Delhi, while a yellow alert remains in place for southwest, west and northeast parts of the city. Cloudy skies are expected through the day, with thunderstorms and rain likely in the afternoon and evening. Officials have cautioned that wind speeds may increase significantly by evening.

Light winds at around 5 kmph are expected, with rain and lightning likely to bring a further dip in temperatures at night.
