Delhi is likely to see a rise in daytime temperatures on Thursday but the rain is likely to bring the mercury below normal again. Delhi will witness partly cloudy skies today and the maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 35°C to 37°C and 18°C to 20°C, respectively. Delhi is off to a rainy start this April, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that consecutive spells of rain are likely to impact Delhi from Friday and continue through the weekend.
The city saw a slight drop in temperature on Wednesday after several parts received significant rain a day before as well as on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

"Delhi is expected to receive a significant amount of rain on Friday and Saturday. The city will continue to experience intermittent rain till at least April 8-9, due to the influence of two consecutive approaching western disturbances, one expected to impact the region from Thursday and the other in the beginning of next week," Mahesh Palawat, vice-president at Skymet, told news agency PTI.
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Saturday, forecasting one or two spells of very light rain or drizzle, accompanied by a thunderstorm, lightning and strong surface winds of speeds between 20 and 30 kmph, gusting up to 40 kmph during the afternoon and the evening.
The temperature might see a slight increase on Thursday due to cloudy conditions and then is likely to decrease in the subsequent days due to the influence of rain, IMD officials added.
