Gurgaon Weather: Sprinkle of rains causing Water Logging

Despite only moderate rainfall today, traffic in Gurgaon and other parts of the NCR screeched to a halt. Why? One user on X (formerly Twitter), Shruti Mallick, summed it up perfectly: “Gurgaon after just an hour of rain……With this kind of crumbling infrastructure, we are planning to compete with mega cities like Dubai.” Except Dubai probably doesn’t need a backup boat plan for every monsoon.

Should I buy a boat?

For some, humour is the only life raft in this sea of misfortune. A bemused commuter named Neetu Garg tweeted, “Should I write driving or boating for office?” She’s not alone in thinking that swimming lessons might be the new prerequisite for surviving the Gurgaon monsoon. Satish Dangi chimed in, “After seeing Gurgaon turn into a water park every monsoon, swimming should be mandatory for corporate jobs in Gurgaon. If you can't swim to work, you're probably in the wrong city!”

Weekend rain, please?

One Delhi worker put it simply: “It should rain only on weekends in Delhi. I'm only twice as late as I usually am to office,” Sanchal tweeted. If only the rain could read this tweet and reschedule.


As the rain poured, the roads transformed, and so did the complaints. The once-proud Delhi-Jaipur Expressway near Narsinghpur turned into a slow-moving river, and Gurgaon hotspots like Sohna Road and Golf Course Extension joined in the underwater fun.
