Delhi Water Supply Cut Today News: Delhi residents in several north-west and north-east areas are set to face water supply disruptions on Tuesday. The Delhi Jal Board is conducting its annual flushing of underground reservoirs and booster pumping ...

The affected localities include Siraspur, Samaypur, several sectors of Rohini, Gorakh Park, Kabir Nagar, Shivaji Park, Welcome, Paschim Vihar, Shahdara and Seemapuri. Nearby areas may also see interruptions during the process.
Delhi Water Supply: Annual maintenance work behind disruption
The water utility said the supply will remain affected because teams are cleaning underground reservoirs and booster pumping stations as part of routine yearly maintenance. The flushing exercise helps remove sediment and maintain the functioning of the water distribution system. To avoid inconvenience during the day, the DJB has urged residents to plan ahead.
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has advised residents to store sufficient water in advance as per their requirement in view of the disruption.
Tanker supply arranged for emergency needs
For areas facing acute shortage, the agency said emergency water will be supplied through tankers. Residents can approach tanker services operating from multiple control rooms across the city.According to the DJB, tankers will be available from control rooms located at Shastri Park, Seelampur, Greater Kailash, Giri Nagar, Jal Sadan, Vasant Kunj, Chattarpur and R K Puram.
For coordination or urgent assistance, residents can also contact the central control room by dialing 1916, the utility added.
Why the flushing exercise matters
Officials say the annual flushing of reservoirs and pumping stations is necessary to keep Delhi’s water distribution system clean and operational. During the process, supply in connected pipelines often slows down or stops for a few hours, which leads to temporary disruption in nearby neighbourhoods. The DJB said residents in affected areas should make arrangements in advance to manage their daily water needs until normal supply resumes.
