School Holidays, December 22-27: Now that the holiday season is almost here, every student and their parents have one question in mind: when will the Delhi school winter vacation begin? During winter, Delhi usually faces several challenges due to extreme cold conditions and very poor air quality.

Many schools in Delhi will remain closed from December 22 to December 27, mainly due to two reasons: the winter season and Christmas. Over the past few days, air quality in the Delhi-NCR region has deteriorated significantly, prompting several schools to switch to hybrid or online modes of learning.

Holiday schedule for December 24 and 25

December 24 will be observed as a restricted holiday, meaning some schools will remain open while others will be closed. However, December 25, which marks Christmas, will be an official holiday, and all schools across Delhi will remain closed so that all the families can spend their Christmas together.

Apart from Christmas, the official winter break in Delhi will start from 1st January.

• 15th-31st December 2025: This is when pre-board examinations for classes 10-12 take place.
