For Wednesday, May 13, the IMD had forecast partly cloudy skies with a possibility of very light rain, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in Delhi-NCR. From May 14 onwards, weather conditions are likely to gradually improve, with mainly clear skies expected from May 15 to May 18. However, temperatures are set to climb, with maximums likely reaching 40 to 42 degrees Celsius by May 17 and 18, while minimums may rise to 27 to 29 degrees.

As per the IMD forecast, the day in Delhi is expected to remain overcast, with the possibility of light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Weather activity is likely to intensify during the afternoon, evening, and night hours. The wind speed may reach between 40 and 50 kmph.

Delhi rain today timing
According to the IMD, the forenoon hours may witness very light to light rainfall along with thunder and lightning, accompanied by gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph. Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate further during the afternoon, with a likelihood of squally winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph along with lightning strikes. The Met department said there is a possibility of thundery developments on Wednesday too. The Meteorological Department has advised residents to remain cautious and vigilant during this period. Partly cloudy skies and the possibility of thunderstorms are expected to persist on May 13 as well. The maximum temperature on Wednesday is likely to remain around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may settle at 26 degrees Celsius.The day temperature is likely to dip to about 34-36 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday. “However, as the impact of the western disturbance is likely to be over by Wednesday, the city may see a rise in mercury from Thursday onwards,” a Met official told TOI.
Rainfall in North India
Parts of North India are likely to receive light rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, at isolated places from Tuesday to Thursday, the IMD said. Moderate to light rains are expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, from May 12 (Tuesday) to May 14 (Thursday); in West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan on May 12 (Tuesday); and in East Uttar Pradesh on May 12 (Tuesday) and May 13 (Wednesday).The Economic Times Business News App for the Latest News in Business, Sensex, Stock Market Updates & More.
