Why is it raining in Delhi?
Active western disturbances and cyclonic circulations over northwest India are driving a surge in thunderstorm activity across Delhi and surrounding regions. This spell of rain has caused a significant drop in temperatures, with maximum temperatures expected to fall from 32–34°C to 26–28°C over the next two days, staying below normal for this season. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures are likely to remain between 16°C and 20°C.This short but intense rainfall has brought welcome relief from the early summer heat, improving overall weather conditions in the city. Residents can expect a mix of cloudy skies, light to moderate rain, and occasional thunderstorms, making it a notable weather event in Delhi. The IMD has advised residents to take precautions and to remain cautious during thunderstorms, avoid waterlogged areas and trees, and drive carefully.
