Delhi Police issues advisory for December 24, 25 ahead of Christmas 2022 gatherings; Know key points here

The Delhi Police Department has just issued a traffic advisory stating that the churches will be packed with worshippers among other gatherings.

In the lead-up to National Capital's Christmas celebrations, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a warning. In order to prevent heavy congestion in the areas surrounding Delhi's well-known churches, including Sacred Heart Cathedral and Nirmal Hriday Church, elaborate traffic arrangements have been made throughout the city.

From today, December 24, Christmas Eve until December 25, Christmas Day, there will probably be a lot of traffic because many devotees will be visiting the city's well-known churches.

There are several churches that will be packed with worshippers, including the Emmanuel Baptist Church on Civil Lines, the Methodist Church near St Stephen Hospital, the St. James Church at Kashmiri Gate, the Church of God at Hauz Khas, the Nirmal Hriday Church at Majnu Ka Tila, the Free Church at 10 Sansad Marg, the Saint Mariam Church at Burari, and the St. James Church at Kashmiri Gate.


There are several streets in this area, including Gok Dak Khana, Rajpura Road, Ring Road Near Majnu Ka Tila, Lodhi Road, Sansad Marg, Lothian Road, Ashoka Road Africa Avenue Road, Burari Road, Patel Chowk, Butler Road, Aurobindo Marg, DBG Road, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, and Church Road (from Gol Dak Khana to Windsor Place). The Delhi Police has issued a warning that significant traffic will be rerouted from the RML roundabout, the Bhai Veer Singh Marg/Kali Bari T point, the Patel Chowk on Ashoka Road, and the Outer Circle at Connaught Place to Gol Dak Khana on Baba Kharak Singh Marg. On Pandit Pant Marg, Dr. Bishamber Das Marg, North Avenue Road, Talkatora Road, Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Road, and Church Road, cars must be parked in single lanes. All of these roads will be extremely congested on Christmas Eve.
