"Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorm and lightning (30-40 Km/h gusty winds) is very likely to occur in the entire Delhi and NCR. In Noida, you can expect a generally cloudy sky with light rain on Wednesday and in Gurugram, partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers are expected. For Thursday too, similar weather conditions are expected but there is no rain forecast for Gurugram.
Rain in Delhi today
It might rain in Delhi today as the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Wednesday and has warned of very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of up to 50kmph. The weather conditions are expected to remain same tomorrow but the weather office has not issued any colour-coded warning.“The maximum temperatures fell by three to five degrees across Delhi on Tuesday. It is likely to remain below 40 degrees Celsius till at least Thursday,” an official told TOI.
Yellow alert for south Delhi
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for parts of northwest Delhi, west Delhi, north Delhi, south Delhi and southeast Delhi. On the other hand, an orange alert has been sounded for southwest Delhi, with officials warning of thunderstorms accompanied by winds reaching up to 60 kmph, along with the possibility of lightning and brief spells of rain.The experts have said that Delhi-NCR region must prepare for dust storms in the coming days, attributing the changing conditions to a cyclonic circulation prevailing over central Pakistan and adjoining regions of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. The system, according to experts, is likely to transport dust from the desert regions of Rajasthan towards Delhi.
