Delhi is also likely to get thunderstorms with rainfall on Wednesday, May 6, the weather office has predicted. The IMD has issued an orange alert for several parts of the capital for moderate thunderstorms, rain, gusty winds, and the possibility of hailstorms.
Delhi areas to get rain
According to a PTI report, an alert is in place for New Delhi, Central Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, Outer North Delhi, North East Delhi, Shahdara and East Delhi, along with parts of South and South West Delhi, for the next few hours as rain and thunderstorms are forecast during the day. The weather department also forecasted the possibility of hailstorms in isolated areas of the city.Overnight thunderstorms and rain, accompanied by gusty winds, brought temperatures down across Delhi on Monday. Delhi's temperature dipped several notches below normal, the IMD's forecast said. Rain lashed several areas in Delhi between late night and early morning hours.

Delhi weather rain today
Delhi is likely to see cloudy skies with very light to light rain accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and strong gusty winds during the afternoon and evening today. "Generally cloudy sky. A spell of very light to light rain accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning and strong surface winds speed 20-30 kmph gusting to 40 kmph during afternoon/ evening," the IMD's forecast read.On Wednesday, the capital is expected to witness partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thundery development towards afternoon, the IMD said. There is no rain prediction for Delhi for May 5 and 6.
At Safdarjung, the city's base station, the minimum temperature was recorded at 18.8 degrees Celsius, 5.9 notches below normal, IMD data showed. Palam recorded a low of 17.9 degrees Celsius, 7.7 degrees below normal, while The Ridge logged a minimum temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, down by 7 degrees.
Lodi Road recorded a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal, and Ayanagar 19 degrees Celsius, 4.6 notches below normal, according to the IMD. The maximum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday is likely to be in the range of 31-33 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad weather
Noida is likely to witness partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers today, the IMD said. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius, respectively. Noida is likely to see partly cloudy skies till May 10.Weather conditions are likely to remain same in Gurugram today too. You can expect partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on Tuesday. Ghaziabad is likely to see thunderstorms and rain today and tomorrow (May 4 and 5), the IMD said.
Delhi's air quality was 'moderate' on Monday morning with an AQI reading of 106, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data. The CPCB classifies an AQI between 0 and 50 as 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
