Residents across Delhi-NCR, including Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad, should brace for unsettled weather conditions on 19 March. The day is forecast to remain generally cloudy, with a spell of very light to light rain during the forenoon.

This rainfall is likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong surface winds reaching speeds of 20–30 km/h, gusting up to 40 km/h.

Conditions may intensify later in the day, with one or two additional spells of light rain expected from the afternoon into the night. Wind speeds could rise further to 30–40 km/h, with gusts touching up to 50 km/h.

Yellow Alert for 20 March: Repeated Rain Spells and Gusty Conditions

The unsettled weather pattern is set to continue on 20 March under another yellow alert. Skies will remain generally cloudy, with a spell of light rain likely during the forenoon.

Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds of 30–40 km/h, gusting up to 50 km/h, are expected during this period.

A second spell of rain is anticipated in the afternoon or evening, bringing similar stormy conditions across the region.

Recent Storm Disruption: Dust Storms and Power Outages

This forecast follows severe weather on the evening of 18 March, when dust storms, intense winds and lightning swept across Delhi and the NCR.

The high-velocity winds disrupted normal life, causing power outages in several areas and prompting authorities to issue safety advisories. Residents were urged to remain indoors, avoid weak structures, and stay clear of windows, electric poles and overhead power lines.

Loose outdoor objects were advised to be secured, while motorists were encouraged to pull over safely rather than drive through hazardous conditions.

Authorities continue to recommend caution during the ongoing weather activity. Residents should stay indoors during storms and avoid unnecessary travel.

Farmers have been advised to temporarily suspend fieldwork and ensure livestock are moved to secure shelters.

23 March Forecast: Chance of Light Rain in the Morning

On 23 March, skies will remain partly cloudy, with a possibility of very light rain during the morning or forenoon hours. Isolated thunderstorms and lightning may also occur.
