Parts of Delhi-NCR received rainfall on Tuesday morning, bringing relief from rising temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a yellow alert for Delhi for the next two days. The IMD has predicted very light to light rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds during the afternoon and evening for the capital today. For Wednesday too, the weather department has predicted very light to light Rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning & gusty winds(30-40kmph) for Delhi.

The weather department on Tuesday issued a yellow alert for light rain and thunderstorms across most districts of Delhi in the next few hours. Delhi recorded light rain in the morning.

Delhi weather today

Residents of Delhi are likely to witness strong winds, cloudy skies, rain, and isolated thunderstorms on April 7 (Tuesday) and 8 (Wednesday), according to the IMD. The IMD has also indicated the possibility of one or two spells of rain or thunderstorms over these two days. Partly cloudy skies are expected to continue on April 9. Thereafter, the weather is likely to clear on April 10 and 11, with temperatures gradually rising and the maximum expected to reach between 33 and 34 degrees Celsius.

A further dip in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, with the maximum likely to hover around 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 20 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are expected to rise again from April 10, according to news agency ANI.

The IMD has also indicated the possibility of one or two spells of rain or thunderstorms over these two days in Delhi. Partly cloudy skies are expected to continue on April 9. Thereafter, the weather is likely to clear on April 10 and 11, with temperatures gradually rising and the maximum expected to reach between 33 and 34 degrees Celsius. The weather department has forecast a day dominated by thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kmph.

Why sudden rain in Delhi

The change in weather conditions is attributed to shifting wind patterns and the influence of a western disturbance, which is likely to bring intermittent cloud cover and isolated rainfall over the national capital region.

This anticipated change in weather is being attributed to an active western disturbance, which is expected to bring increased wind speeds and a noticeable drop in temperatures across the NCR and adjoining areas. The minimum temperature may decrease by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, leading to slightly cooler conditions, especially during the early morning and late evening hours.

Noida, Gurugram weather

Noida is also likely to witness partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on April 7 (Tuesday) and 8 (Wednesday). The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 27-31 degrees Celsius and 17-18 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Gurugram will also see partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers today and tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 30-31 degrees Celsius and 15-16 degrees Celsius, respectively.
