Delhi-NCR weather today, September 19: Will there be sudden heavy rainfall in New Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad? Check IMD forecast
The forecast comes as the Southwest Monsoon begins showing signs of withdrawal from northwest India. IMD said conditions are becoming favourable for the monsoon to withdraw from some parts of West Rajasthan around September 19. For Delhi, however, the immediate forecast points towards mainly dry weather rather than a major rain spell.
Will Delhi get heavy rain today?
For New Delhi, IMD's local forecast shows a partly cloudy sky on September 19, with no warning issued. The broader Delhi forecast also says there is no rain expected and predicts a maximum temperature of 34°C to 36°C and a minimum of 22°C to 24°C.The situation is different in some neighbouring NCR areas. IMD's local forecast for Gurugram mentions partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on September 19. However, no warning has been issued for Gurugram.
What about Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad?
The IMD district-wise forecast for Delhi-NCR indicates partly cloudy conditions across Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad on September 19. There is no indication in the bulletin of a widespread heavy-rain event across these areas.The weather department has also forecast relatively moderate winds, with speeds generally around 10-15 kmph during different parts of the day. Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.9°C and a minimum of 25.2°C at Safdarjung on September 18, with no rainfall recorded during the observation periods.
Delhi weather outlook for the next few days
The dry pattern is expected to continue. IMD forecasts partly cloudy skies for September 20, followed by mainly clear conditions from September 21. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain around 34°C to 36°C through September 23, while the minimum could fall to around 21°C to 24°C.So, for people in Delhi-NCR wondering whether a sudden heavy downpour is likely on September 19, the current IMD forecast does not point to widespread heavy rainfall. Isolated rain or thundershowers remain possible in parts of the NCR, particularly Gurugram, but there is no heavy-rain warning for Delhi in the latest local forecast.
