Rainfall across several parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) late Monday night and early Tuesday brought relief from persistent heat and humidity. The showers, accompanied by strong winds, led to a drop in temperatures and more pleasant weather conditions.

Light to moderate rain was recorded in many areas of Delhi and neighbouring regions, including Noida. Cloudy skies and intermittent drizzle continued through the morning, although waterlogging and slow-moving traffic were reported at some locations.

IMD forecasts more rain and thunderstorms

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi-NCR is likely to receive light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph over the next 24 hours.

The weather conditions are expected to keep maximum temperatures in check and provide continued relief from humid conditions.

Waterlogging affects traffic in some areas

While the rainfall improved weather conditions across the region, it also caused waterlogging at several locations, resulting in traffic disruptions in parts of Delhi-NCR.
