With rain expected to continue on Friday, July 10, many parents and students are wondering whether schools, colleges and offices in Delhi-NCR will remain closed.
Are schools closed in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad on July 10?
Schools have been closed in Ghaziabad, but not across the entire Delhi-NCR.Due to extremely heavy rainfall, a holiday has been declared on 10 July 2026 for all schools from nursery to Class 12 in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat and Bulandshahr. The respective district administrations have issued official orders.
However, no official holiday has been announced for schools or colleges in Delhi, Noida (Gautam Buddh Nagar), Gurugram or Faridabad. Educational institutions in these areas are expected to function as per their regular schedule unless fresh orders are issued by the respective authorities.
Are offices closed in Delhi-NCR on July 10?

IMD issues Orange Alert for Delhi
The IMD has placed Delhi under an Orange Alert, indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds.According to the weather department, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity is expected to continue over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and western Uttar Pradesh until July 10. A fresh spell of rain is also likely over northeastern Uttar Pradesh until July 13, while eastern Rajasthan may receive significant rainfall.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel during intense rain spells and follow official weather advisories.
Rain disrupts normal life across Delhi-NCR
Continuous showers since Wednesday have resulted in waterlogging at several locations, including:- New Delhi Railway Station
- Munirka
- Mayur Vihar
- Narayana
- Janakpuri
- Pragati Maidan
- Several low-lying areas across Delhi
The rain has slowed traffic movement and affected daily commuting in parts of the National Capital Region.
