Delhi Metro's Blue Line services restored after disruption today

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday issued a statement regarding disruption in the services of Blue Line. However, around 1:30 pm, the issue was resolved and service was restored.

Taking to social media X (formerly Twitter), DMRC wrote in a post "Blue Line Update: Necessary work to restore signalling cables has been carried out on the affected section and services are running normally now on the Blue Line since 01:38 pm."

Passengers commuting on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro faced delays earlier today due to a cable theft incident between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations.


In a statement issued by the DMRC in the early hours of December 5, officials had informed that the issue would only be resolved after operational hours, leading to restricted train speeds during the day.

As a result, services on this section were running slower than usual, causing delays. DMRC had urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly, considering the additional travel time required.

The Blue Line, one of the busiest corridors of the Delhi Metro, connects Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida City Centre and Vaishali. The disruption is likely to impact a significant number of daily commuters until normal operations resume.

DMRC expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and had assured that full services would be restored.
