The Dynamic test runs of the regional rapid transit system are being conducted for the 17 km Priority Section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor, between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

These trials are conducted to test different infrastructure components. Apart from a few minor and finishing tasks, telecom and signalling development is still under process at the moment. Once finished, integrated, high-speed test runs will soon start on the corridor's priority segment. In order to operate India's first Regional Rail in the priority segment, NCRTC has charged Over Head Equipment (OHE) at 25 KV capacity from Duhai Depot to Ghaziabad RRTS station. During this procedure, the RRTS train successfully travelled up to the Ghaziabad RRTS station to test the charged OHE. The remaining priority section's OHE will shortly be charged as well.

According to Vinay Kumar Singh, managing director of the (NCRTC), the ambitious Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor's 17-km Duhai-Sahibabad priority portion is expected to be operational by March. Each of the numerous technological components have to pass a separate test in order to create a secure and dependable RRTS network. Once these tests are successful, all of the system's components, rolling stock, OHE, track, telecom, signalling, station infrastructure, platform screen doors, etc, will be put through integrated testing to see how well they work together and how they behave in terms of public safety. The priority sector has already mapped out the track work.

The entire Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS is anticipated to operate by 2025. The Duhai-Sahibabad priority stretch in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, is expected to be operational by early 2023, according to recent statements from the NCRTC.
