Delhi Lok Adalat next date: When can you settle your traffic challan? Check slip download date, eligibility, daily limit and other details

The Delhi Traffic Police has announced that hearings scheduled for September 12 and later deferred to October 10, 2026, will now be held on October 25, 2026. The change comes after the original sitting was deferred amid traffic and security arrangements for the BRICS Summit, held in New Delhi from September 11 to 13.

How to get a slip for October 25 sitting?

According to the Delhi State Legal Services Authority notice, compoundable challans pending up to June 30, 2026, will be taken up. Motorists can download their challan slips from the Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat portal from October 19, 2026, at 10 am onwards.

Downloads will be capped at 50,000 challans per day, subject to an overall limit of 2 lakh challans.

Lok Adalat on October 25: Where it will be held?

According to the official circular issued by DSLSA, the Lok Adalat will be organised across all Delhi district court complexes, including Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka and Rouse Avenue court complexes. Apart from the district courts, the National Lok Adalat will also be organised on October 19, 2026, at the High Court of Delhi, Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs), Permanent Lok Adalats, Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions.

What is a Lok Adalat?

A Lok Adalat is an alternative dispute-resolution forum designed to facilitate the amicable settlement of eligible cases. It can deal with pending cases as well as certain matters at the pre-litigation stage. The system operates under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and is intended to provide a simpler and faster route for resolving suitable disputes. For Delhi motorists, National Lok Adalats have also become an important avenue for dealing with eligible traffic challans.
