Delhi is gearing up for another Special Lok Adalat, offering vehicle owners a chance to settle pending challans. Organized by the Delhi Traffic Police in collaboration with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), the Special Lok Adalat will take place on April 5, 2026, across all seven major court complexes in the city. In its post, the Delhi Traffic Police wrote, "A special Lok Adalat for settlement of pending traffic challans or notices will be held on April 5, 2026 (Sunday) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in all court complexes across Delhi. Take advantage of this opportunity to settle your pending challans or notices."

Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat Date

The Delhi Traffic Police will host a Special Lok Adalat on April 5, 2026. The announcement was made via the department’s official X account (formerly Twitter). According to the post, “A special Lok Adalat for the settlement of pending traffic challans or notices will be held on April 5, 2026 (Sunday), from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at all court complexes across Delhi. Take this opportunity to settle your pending challan or notice.”

Delhi Traffic Lok Adalat Token registration: How to book

To participate and have your challans heard at the Lok Adalat, you need to register online and obtain a token/slot ahead of time. This token essentially confirms your participation and helps the courts schedule your case. You can book a token for Delhi Traffic Lok Adalat in the following ways:

Important Tips:

Make sure your mobile number is registered with Delhi Traffic Police / Parivahan portal, as the verification OTP goes to that number.

Only compoundable / eligible traffic challans and notices up to a specified cutoff date (usually Dec 31, 2025, for this session) will appear for Lok Adalat settlement.

Special Lok Adalat 2026 Delhi: Eligible challans


For the Special Lok Adalat 2026 in Delhi, only certain types of traffic challans are eligible for settlement.

  • Compoundable Traffic Offences – These are minor traffic violations where fines can be paid directly without going to trial. Examples include:
    • Jumping a red light
    • Not wearing a helmet (two-wheeler)
    • Not wearing a seatbelt (four-wheeler)
    • Using a mobile phone while driving
    • Over-speeding (within certain limits)
    • Illegal parking
    • Driving without valid documents
  • Pending Notices on Delhi Traffic Police Portal – Only challans or notices uploaded to the Virtual Court and sent via the Delhi Traffic Police portal by December 31, 2025 are eligible.
  • Unpaid Fines – Any unpaid fines for compoundable offences that appear in your online traffic profile.

    Log in to download your pending notice or challan.

    The portal will go live at 10:00 AM on March 30, 2026, and will remain active until a total of 200,000 challans or notices are downloaded, with a daily limit of 50,000. The link will be active from 10:00 AM on March 30, 2026

    Log in using your vehicle number or challan details.

    Download your eligible traffic challan or notice.

    Check if your challan is marked for Lok Adalat.

    Select the option to book a slot for settlement.

    Choose your preferred date and time slot from the available options.

    Confirm the booking and save/download the confirmation details.

    Lok Adalat 2026 documents needed

    Printed copy of your traffic challan / notice – Download this from the Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat portal before you go. It’s mandatory to bring the printout, as there’s usually no printing facility at court complexes.

    Driving Licence (DL) – Original and a photocopy (if available).

    Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) – Original and photocopy.

    Identity proof – e.g., Aadhaar card, passport or voter ID.

    Payment receipt (if you’ve already paid part of the fine) – Useful to show in court.

    Lok Adalat token / appointment letter (if issued when you registered online) – Print this and bring it along.
