The 13th edition of the Delhi Literature Festival (DLF) is set to begin on May 2 at Bikaner House, featuring a gathering of political leaders, prominent authors, and cultural personalities. The three-day event, with the theme "Delhi Writes: Voices, Visions and Verses," will continue until May 4, according to a statement from DLF. Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra S Shekhawat, will officially open the festival.

The opening day of the festival will be attended by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Speaker of the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, Cabinet Minister for Culture and Tourism Kapil Mishra, NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra, and Tim Curtis, Director and Representative of UNESCO India.

This year’s edition will showcase a notable political and intellectual presence, including sessions like "Demography, Dialogue and Development," led by Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj, and a special conversation titled "Flowing Through Time: Healing The Yamuna," with Delhi Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh. Political commentator and author Anand Ranganathan will captivate audiences with a talk called "Unscripted, Unapologetic, Unfiltered."


The festival will feature a range of Indian authors, including former diplomat Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri (Swallowing the Sun), Ambassador Abhay K (Nalanda: How It Changed The World), Dr. Aishwarya Pandit (Indian Renaissance: The Modi Decade), as well as Ravi Shankar Etteth, Arun Anand, Pavan K Varma, Taslima Nasrin, and Mukul Kumar. Special sessions will include a celebration of Hindi poetry titled "Itwaar Chhota Pad Gaya," along with book discussions on "Can We Be Strangers Again" by Shrijeet Shandilya and "Kumbha: The Traditionally Modern Mela" by Nityananda Misra.

The Delhi Literature Festival Awards 2025 will honor winners in seven literary categories. The event, open to all for free, will also spotlight emerging young talent through the "Writers of the New Century" competition.
