A 30-year-old judicial officer, Aman Kumar Sharma, died by suicide in Delhi’s Safdarjung area, prompting a police investigation and allegations of harassment and domestic disputes from his family. According to information cited by news agency ANI, his body was found hanging.

According to a relative, Sharma’s father received a call from him around 10 pm, during which he expressed distress and said it had become difficult for him to continue living. The father travelled from Alwar and reached Delhi around midnight.

The relative stated that Sharma’s father was informed that he had been facing conflicts with his wife and had allegedly been harassed for the past two months.

Allegations of domestic conflict

The family alleged that Sharma’s wife, Swati, also a judicial officer, and her sister Nidhi Malik, an IAS officer posted in Jammu, were involved in ongoing disputes. According to the relative, Sharma had claimed that Nidhi Malik interfered in his personal life and exercised control over his household.

The situation reportedly escalated the next morning when an argument broke out inside the house. The relative said that Sharma’s father witnessed his daughter-in-law shouting while Sharma appeared distressed.

Discovery of the body

After the argument subsided, Sharma’s father attempted to locate him. When he called Sharma’s phone, it was heard ringing inside the bathroom. Despite repeated attempts to open the door, there was no response.

From October 18, 2025, he was serving as the full-time Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority in the North-East district at Karkardooma Courts.
