Delhi horror: Teen asks stranger money to buy biryani, stabs him 55 times, slits throat and dances

In a shocking incident in east Delhi's Welcome colony, a 16-year-old, seemingly under the influence of alcohol, brutally stabbed another teenager more than 55 times and slit his throat. The accused then dragged the lifeless body through the street and even performed a jig while carrying out the heinous crime, as captured on CCTV footage.

According to the police, the accused, who was arrested on Wednesday morning, confessed to the crime. Reports suggest that the motive behind the attack was a dispute over money to buy biryani. The accused had approached the 17-year-old victim, who was a stranger to him, for money. When the victim refused, an argument ensued, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.

"The accused overpowered the victim, choked him until he lost consciousness, and then repeatedly stabbed him with a small knife. He dragged the victim's body to a secluded area, continuing to stab him more than 55 times," said an official involved in the investigation.


The CCTV footage reveals the accused dancing during the gruesome act and even intimidating others who tried to intervene. The incident took place around 11.15 pm on Tuesday, and despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries on the way.

"We have recovered the murder weapon and are currently investigating its source," stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey.

The accused, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, did not stop at the murder. After robbing the victim of Rs 350, he dragged the lifeless body back to the same narrow lane before fleeing the scene.

The authorities have expressed their shock at the brutal nature of the crime. "The CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying and apprehending the accused promptly," said DCP Tirkey.
