Starting September 12, the Delhi Development Authority is allotting 8,500 EWS and LIG flats as part of an online housing scheme that will operate on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Flats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low Income Groups (LIG) are part of the housing scheme. "This is an opportunity to grab your dream home on a first come first serve basis for the EWS and LIG categories. Pay online and reserve your flat instantly," the DDA tweeted

In December of 2021, the housing authority launched a special housing scheme with over 18,000 flats - from its inventory - on offer.

Response to the scheme has been muted, with the DDA only receiving around 22,000 applications since January this year.

While flats in Vasant Kunj saw fair response, the DDA flats in Narela did not get the same attention, according to Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishore.

“Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has informed that flats offered in Vasant Kunj under DDA Housing Scheme 2019 had received an overwhelming response. However the flats offered in Narela did not get the adequate response," Kishore said.
